the house that I live in has a prewire system already but I just want to test it without calling for activation to the company that installed it.I just want to be able to test all the sensors in the house to see if they work do they have any default generic codes to turn it off in case it starts going off?thanks

What is a basic, good & cheap, home security system to purchase.My house is 10000sq.ft.lot,2family 3 entrance?
What is a good, reliable and relatively affordable brand for a wireless home security system, besides Brinks?
The system can't have expensive monthly monitoring, and monitoring has to be OPTIONAL, ie. not required to operate the system . Also, the price of the system can't be subsidized by a system monitoring contract. It would help is such a security system is available at retailers, but its not necessary. Also, I'm NOT interested in systems that only offer surveillance.
Does anyone have ADT home security?
So i tried turning the alarm on and it says there is a fault at location 02 i know which door that is but i dont know how to turn the fault off i did it yesterday but i was just pushing random buttons lol so anyone have any advice? ? it keeps saying its not ready to arm

BEST WIRELESS HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS?
Ok so we are moving next month into a house that we will be renting. Unfortunately, ADT & Brinks dont let renters use their services...which is ok because we dont plan to rent the house forever, so their products would probably be a waste of money anyway.Ive been online FOREVER it feels like, looking for a home security system we can install ourselves. Ive heard wireless is the easiest way to go? We just dont want to have to pay a professional to come out and do it. I have NO idea how to find what Im looking for or what products actually do what we want them to do. So Im hoping that maybe somebody can steer me in the right direction if I describe what I hope to find.....Like I said, wireless would be great. I want something not too difficult to use....we would like to be able to monitor all the windows and doors in the house there isnt very many . And MOST OF ALL, I want something LOUD. Id want the siren alarm to be able to be heard from the next door neighbors houses....I figure, if the alarm isnt very loud, what good does it do? Im hoping that if God forbid anyone ever tried to break in, the alarm would scare them away if they know everyone can hear it and cops may very well be on their way....I have a 4yr old son and I want to do anything I can to assure a sense of safety in our house. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Does anybody know of a system that I should purchase?THANKS IN ADVANCE
