I would check out the selection at SpyTown.com (spytown.com/ ) I've been researching various sites, comparing prices and features. I'm looking to include security cameras in a few apartments I own. I'm not sure the exact functionality you'd like to see with the unit, but this DVR Security System comes with four cameras you can set up around the parameter of your home and allows you to monitor the activity outside within the confines of your own home - spytown.com/ svcvwebredvr.html I would check out the rest of their selection that may better fit your needs. spytown.com/ netcamipadca.html Hope that helps! |

1) a big dog. A lab Shepard mix seems to be a good pet/ alarm 2) they sell kids security systems to put in front of their door to tell when little bro sneeks into their room. Just get like 20 of them. Walmart, target, etc. 3) They sell window sensors. |

Do a web search for DIY Home Security and you'll get lots of hits. Whatever you buy, be sure it has a feature to call your cell phone if something sets it off. A passive alarm is worthless if there's no one monitoring it. |

I agree with Jim S - you need an alarm system that provides monitoring. I know of one system that is fantastic as it can dial serveral numbers if it gets triggered. Its the Skylink SC-1000 (see link). Not only that, it has no ongoing montoring costs - so its free home security monitoring. Being wireless I think it would be very easy to install. |
